Bill worked with Troop 99 as unit commissioner for many years. He served on many of our Eagle boards. It was always a pleasure to have him visit our meetings.

Bill was a true gift to Scouting. As a former Scoutmaster now Assistant, I cannot tell you how many of our Scouts were mentored by Bill. He also held numerous Boards of Review for us. Godspeed min norske ven.

I am sad to learn of Bill's passing too late to attend his funeral. He was an ardent supporter of Scouting and a mentor to adults and children. His enthusiasm and charm were infectious. Bill also supported the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). He valued history and understood its importance in guiding the future. He encouraged young men to do the same. I also had the privilege to know Phyllis when she and Bill attended Selwyn United Methodist Church in Charlotte. Bill was an unabashed patriot, strong in his faith, and proud to uplift new generations of youth. Rest in peace, Bill.
