William Kenneth "Kenny" Mann, 79, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Carteret Health Care surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral service to honor Kenny’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 1st at First Baptist Church in Morehead City, officiated by Dr. Nate Leonard. Interment will follow at Mann Family Cemetery in Newport. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website.

Born on October 12, 1946, in Morehead City, NC, Kenny was the son of the late Leon and Ruth Mann. He showed remarkable dedication throughout his life, exemplified by never missing a day of school during his twelve years of early education. This commitment continued as he became a school bus driver and later enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service, where he was a familiar and friendly presence in the community he served.

A man of deep faith, Kenny’s life was grounded in the Word of God. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church for thirty years, where he actively participated in the church choir. His love for singing began early in life when he joined the chapel choir at East Carolina University. Kenny especially enjoyed beach music and loved to show off his smooth dance moves.

Kenny’s many interests included hunting, fishing, boating and spending time on the water. He had many fond memories of his annual fishing trip with the guys. Kenny always appreciated a well-maintained lawn and took great pride in mowing and working in his yard.

Kenny was a remarkable man who took on the role of a father figure to many. He affectionately referred to his daughter's friends as "Baby Girl’s," showing kindness and genuine interest in their lives. More than anything, Kenny’s love and dedication to his family was profound. He was happiest when he was with his family and especially enjoyed vacationing together or going on camping trips where he loved to grill out.

Kenny will be remembered for his warmth, dedication, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those around him.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 57 years, Lynn Mann; daughter, Amanda Reneé Mann Lewis (Danny) of Swansboro, NC; sons, Kenneth Scott Mann (Debbie) of Autryville, NC, and Christopher Ashley Mann of Greenville, NC; sister, Susan Gail Lacy (Ken) of Cape Carteret, NC; sisters-in-law, Betty McConnell (Larry) of Benbrook, TX and Jan Mann of Huntersville, NC; nephews, Dr. Spencer Lacey (Lisa) of Wilmington, NC, Justin Lacey of Wilmington, NC, and Lee Mann (Sarah) of Charlotte, NC; great nephew, James Mann of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Shayla Mann Andreeve of Charlotte, NC, Ashlyn Mann of Greenville, NC, Noah Mann of Emerald Isle, NC, and Kenlynn Lewis of Swansboro, NC; and step grandsons, Steven Temple and Matthew Temple, both of Autryville, NC.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Thomas Mann.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, designated for the Choir or for Missions, 810 Bridges St., Morehead City, NC 28557.
