William "Bill" Allen Marks, 72, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Linda E. White Hospice House.
Bill was born in Evansville, Indiana on June 12, 1951 to the late J. Frank Marks, Jr. and Ruth (Gore) Marks. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1969 and attended Evansville College. Bill grew up working alongside his family at Smoky Mountain Bar-B-Que. When the restaurant closed he went to work at Staples and most recently had been working at Bumper to Bumper. Bill attended St. Joseph Catholic Church (All Saints Parish) and was a longtime member of the Daniel Boone Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. Bill was a whiz with sports statistics, was an avid golfer, tennis player, gunsmith and gun collector, wood worker and enjoyed driving his corvette. He enjoyed exploring the sky with his telescope and playing the guitar. Bill was a loving brother, uncle and cousin and will be deeply missed.
Bill is survived by his sister, Mary Lynn Isaacs (Jim); brothers, John Marks (Judith), Michael Marks and David Marks; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Marks; aunts, Beverly June Gore and Beverly Jo Gore; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice Irene Marks; and brother, Robert Judd Marks.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 4, 2024 at All Saints Parish (St Joseph Catholic Church Campus), 600 E. Virginia St., Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 12:00 noon until 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 and again from 9:00 am until Mass time on Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Parish (St Joseph Catholic Church Campus) or to the ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Blvd, Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209.
