William E. "Bill" Deeg, 88, of rural Evansville, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Evansville Protestant Home.

Bill was born on August 18, 1937, in Evansville to the late Elmer O. and Clara (Stratman) Deeg. He worked as a pharmacist at his family's pharmacy, Deeg's Pharmacy, and also Great Scot Pharmacy and Walmart Pharmacy before retiring. Bill was a devoted member of St. Philip Catholic Church; he had made his Cursillo and was inducted into the Brute` Society of the Diocese of Evansville for his service to the church. Bill served on the board and volunteered with Life Choices Maternity and Youth Home, was a CASA volunteer and a longtime season ticket holder for the University of Evansville basketball. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, watching and feeding the birds and, in his younger years, hunting. Bill and his wife, Mary Lou, enjoyed traveling and Bill loved attending the Kentucky Derby and did so for over 50 years.

Surviving Bill are his wife of 33 years, Mary Lou Deeg; children and their spouses, Bill and Beth Deeg, Barb and Jon Raben, Ken and Rebecca Deeg, Donna and David Koewler, Tim and Stacy Jerger and Julie and Greg Weinzapfel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Rosemarie Deeg and Mike and Holly Deeg; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Jerry and Gloria Riley and Pat and Kay Riley; seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one more on the way.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Deeg in 1991 and by a brother, John Deeg.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Philip Church Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service held at 4:00 PM. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday at St. Philip Catholic Church, 3500 St. Philip Road, S.

Memorial contributions may be made to Right to Life of Southwestern Indiana, 20 NW 4th Street, Evansville, IN 47708 or to St. Philip Catholic Church, 3500 St. Philip Road, S, Mt. Vernon, IN 47620.
