William Melvin Marshall, age 90, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025. He was born October 11, 1934, in Sullivan, Illinois, to Delmar and Bernice Marshall. Melvin devoted more than four decades of his life to C.I.P.S., where he started as a lineman and retired as a storeroom manager.
After retiring, Melvin moved to Missouri to be near his children. He embraced retirement with the same quiet enthusiasm he brought to work-spending countless days on the golf course alongside his son Gary, swapping stories and perfecting his swing. He always lived minutes from Cheryl and would drop in to see what she was cooking and who was hanging out there.
Melvin was a devoted father to Bill, Cheryl, Lori, and Gary. He is survived by his daughters Cheryl Giddens (Kenneth) and Lori Williamson (Bruce); daughter-in-law Jeanetta Marshall; fifteen grandchildren; Jeremy, Tabatha, Travis, Candace, Matthew, Jenna, Cody, Sheila, Chrissy, Jarad, Amy, Angela, Amber, Andrew, and Noah; and a host of great grandchildren; sisters Linda Lothyan (Bruce), Marilyn Peterson (Jerry), and Janice Macias; and brother Larry Marshall (Bonnie); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Delmar and Bernice Marshall; sons Bill and Gary Marshall; brothers Dean and Dick Marshall; sisters-in-law Joyce and Beverly Marshall; brother-in-law Anthony Macias; nephews James Marshall, Christopher Peterson, and Mark Lothyan; and niece Nancy Lothyan.
