In Loving Memory of a Life Well Lived

Doris M. Reynolds, age 85, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 11, 2025. She was born December 9, 1939, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of the late JB and Morene (Williams) McGill. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harold McGill.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Bob Reynolds; their children, Diana (Chris) Britain, Randy (Shari) Klassen, and RJ Reynolds; grandchildren, Miranda (Andy) Heffner, Jason (Tiffany) Britain, Josiah Klassen, and Jaron Klassen; two great-grandchildren, Owen Britain and Baylee Britain; and many friends whose lives were brightened by her presence.

Heaven gained a bright light as Doris May Reynolds, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and faithful friend, went home to be with the Lord. She lived a life marked by joy, service, and deep devotion-to her family, her community, and her Savior.

A devoted wife and partner, she poured love and care into everything she did. She loved the good Lord with all her heart and radiated that love in every interaction-with a smile that could light up a room and an encouraging word for everyone she met.

She was a woman of routines and traditions that brought her joy and grounded her days: Chick-fil-A on Wednesdays (or everyday), McAlister's on Saturdays, Andy's on Sunday nights. The color blue made her happy, Diet Coke was never far from reach, and garage sales were her treasure hunts-she truly was the Queen of Garage Sales.

Her car's license plate, KAR2GO, summed her up perfectly-always active, always moving, always doing. She was a proud Winter Texan and loved to travel, especially when it meant visiting loved ones or exploring new places with family in tow.

She loved to dance-whether it was line dancing, two-stepping, or just swaying to a tune in the kitchen. Music moved her, especially the sounds of gospel music that fed her soul. One of her favorite songs to sing was "What a Day That Will Be"-and now, she has seen the face of Jesus.

She truly delighted in spending summers with her grandkids-those were some of her most cherished memories. Whether they were off to the park, feeding the geese, packing up for pool days, taking them to the annual "Free Ride Day" at the fair, or heading out on spontaneous adventures, she embraced every moment.

She always came prepared-with snacks, ideas, and enthusiasm.

Volunteering was second nature to her. She gave her time and heart freely to both her church and her community, showing up for others in quiet and powerful ways. Her servant's heart touched many lives, and she led by example, always putting others before herself.

She supported her children and grandchildren in everything they did-attending every game, recital, or school event with pride that overflowed. She didn't know a stranger and bragged endlessly about her family to anyone who would listen. She loved deeply, laughed often, and lived fully.

Her presence was a gift, and her legacy will live on in the traditions she built, the love she gave, and the countless lives she touched. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered with joy.

Doris was so delightful in every way. We square danced together for many years. She was also a client of mine prior to my retirement at Commerce Brokerage. She was a doll who wholeheartedly loved her dear husband, Bob, and her family. Prayers for the family. Much love
