It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jon Lindy Reynolds, 58, of Lafayette. Jon went to be with the lord on August 6th, 2025, following a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born on April 28, 1967, to Jerold Reynolds and the late Cynthia Reynolds. Jon was a proud graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School, Class of 1985, where his vibrant personality, sharp humor, and kind heart made him a friend to many. After high school, Jon proudly enlisted in the United States Navy. His journey took an unexpected turn when he was placed on medical leave, and shortly thereafter, on August 19, he experienced a life-altering accident involving a three-wheeler. Though his life changed dramatically, Jon's fighting spirit and sense of humor never dimmed.

Jon will be remembered most for his infectious laugh, mischievous sense of humor, and loving heart. His ability to bring laughter and light to those around him was unmatched-he especially enjoyed playfully scaring those closest to him, including his dear friend and caregiver, Suzie Schilling, who lovingly endured his many pranks and antics. Jon also had a passion for cooking and took pride in making delicious meals for others, he simply enjoyed being in the kitchen and trying new things.

He also had a deep love for the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. That time of year brought him so much joy, from decorating to celebrating with family. The lights, the laughter, and the togetherness made the season his favorite. Family meant everything to Jon. His love was steady, unconditional, and deeply felt by those closest to him. He built strong bonds with his siblings, nieces, and nephews-treasuring time spent together. Jon especially cherished cheering on his favorite football teams, often side by side with his nephew JR, celebrating victories and mourning losses like true fans.

Jon is survived by his father, Jerry Reynolds, and his bonus mother, Janet Reynolds; his brother, Steve Reynolds; his sister, Christina Pullins; and his beloved bonus sisters, Michelle Certain (Husband: Cody) and Kristel Johnson (Husband: Jerry). He is also survived by his Aunt Terri Meyers. He also leaves behind his nephews: JR Pullins and Noah Amos (Wife: Jordan) as well as his nieces: Meahgan Pullins, Gabriella Reynolds, Isabella Reynolds, Payge Pullins, Arabella Reynolds, Emma Amos, Courtney App (Husband: Eddie) and Whitney Certain.

Jon is now reunited with those who went before him, including his beloved mother, Cynthia Reynolds; grandparents Barbara and Ralph Reynolds, Chester Miller, and Helen Miller; and his loyal canine companions, Tigger and Mozart, who brought him years of joy and comfort.

Jon Reynolds will be remembered for the laughter he sparked, the strength he carried through hardship, and the love he poured into his relationships. Though he is no longer with us in body, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In honor of Jon, who loved his comfy clothes and tye-dye tank tops, the family requests casual dress for his laid-back spirit.

The family would like to give a special thank you to IU Health Arnett Hospital and the physicians and nurses who cared for Jon. We would also like to thank Mulberry Healthcare and the nurses and staff for the excellent care they provided Jon during his stay there as well as the excellent care provided by Guardian Angel Hospice.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lafayette.

Our condolences to the Reynolds family. I have so many memories of Jon on the holidays and out at Edwood Glen. All the golfers would check in with him and tease each other before tournaments.
Such a wonderful and close family. Thoughts and prayers for all.
