William Henry Marshall of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at his granddaughter’s home in Southport, NC.
William was born in Charlotte County, Virginia, on April 19, 1934, to Lila Holt and Robert Fletcher Marshall. He was the husband of the late Lula Rowland Marshall.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Wade Marshall and Robert Lee Marshall; one sister, Mary Alice Baber; son, Jackie Mayhew; daughter, Joan Mayhew Easterling; and granddaughter, Rebecca Mayhew Cassidy.
He is survived by granddaughter, Crystal Mayhew McQuage (Jason) and great grandson, Johnathan Cassidy.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving honorably from 1953 to 1957.
A private memorial will be held.
Memorials can be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
