William T Matthews

William T Matthews "Billy " passed away on February 2, 2026. Born in Manhattan NY spent his early childhood in Woodside Queens before moving to Long Beach Ny where he spent the rest of his life. Billy was a US Army Veteran. After getting out of the Military Billy worked for the City of Long Beach, NY outside water Department CSEA for about 7 years then became a career firefighter with the City of Long Beach UFA local 287. Billy worked as a Lifeguard for a few years with Long Beach Lifeguards and also spent a number of years as a volunteer firefighter with City of Long Beach prior to becoming a career firefighter. He is survived by his two sons Patrick and Michael his sister Noreen life partner Susan and his former wife Ginger.
