William "Wild Bill" Allen Maxwell, age 68, died suddenly Saturday, August 30, 2025, at his home near New Rumley, Ohio.

Born December 13, 1956, in Marianna, Florida he was a son of the late John T. Maxwell and Beverly Lane Maxwell. Growing up on a farm, he loved being around horses and knew that was his life's calling. Earning an associate's degree in applied science in horse production and management from Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas, he used those skills at various jobs until 1998, when he found a home at Faith Ranch near Jewett. While working there he trained horses and gave riding lessons until 2009. He was also a certified equine adjuster who made sure horses were as healthy and pain free as they could be. But the best thing that he found at Faith Ranch was his partner for life, Linda Treuting. Linda also worked at Faith Ranch, and they just fit. They got married on April 21, 2001. He attended New Rumley Global Methodist Church with Linda and was also an avid bow and gun hunter. Later in life he also drove for the local Amish, hauling them, their livestock, and whatever for them.

Bill was a man of deep faith, and mentored many young folks over the years, both family members and those he met at Faith Ranch. He also freely picked on those he came in contact with, had a joke or a smile, made others laugh. He daily spent time in God's Word and it showed it his life.

Surviving in addition to his wife Linda, are his siblings Sandra (Rod) Taylor, Bonnie (Richard) Troyer, Scott (Tammy) Maxwell, Todd (Dena) Maxwell, James Maxwell, John Maxwell and Rebecca Maxwell, 11 nieces and nephews and 23 great nieces and great nephews.

A celebration of his life is being planned for Saturday, September 6 at 1 pm. It will be held at Faith Ranch, 89500 Jewett-Germano Rd, Jewett, Oh. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Ranch, PO Box 355, Jewett, Ohio 43986. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements.
