William Lee McCorkel, age 44, most recently of Blackshear, Georgia, formerly of Jefferson City, Tennessee, died January 27, 2026.
William was a graduate of Jefferson County High School in Jefferson City, Tennessee, in the early 2000s. His journey brought him down to Georgia in the spring of 2025, where he began working at Georgia Chip. An outdoorsman at heart, William found joy in fishing, hunting, and working on cars. His love for nature was evident in everything he did.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Eunice Quattlebaum, Leroy and Margie Forrester; his brother, Nicholas McCorkel; as well as his aunt and uncle, Libby and Danny.
William is survived by his children, Jacob, Colleen, and Robbie McCorkel; father, Billy McCorkel; mother and stepfather, Loretta and Robert Woodard; siblings, Alex McCorkel (and his girlfriend Katy Cutshaw), Jessica Myers (and her husband John, along with their sons Gordon and Jackson) and Brandon McCorkel (and his wife Laura).
