William Kenneth "Bill" McGaw

William "Bill" McGaw, 79, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away peacefully November 5, 2025, in the Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. Bill was born September 6, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, and raised by his adoptive parents, Waldo and Doris McGaw.
Bill was a rather private man. He did not share much with his friends regarding his early childhood and life experiences prior to him coming to Colorado. People remember him as a quiet man who was always kind to his neighbors. In the wintertime he was often seen shoveling snow away from the entrance to his church before anyone else came to shovel the snow. He never wanted to take credit for getting the job done. After his retirement from the newspaper, he worked doing custodial and lawn care for his church. He would not miss a potluck meal at his church, usually off by himself with his meal, not wanting to be fussed over. Having no living family, he would at times find useful items when he went for walks around town and would bring the items home and pass them on to his neighbors or people he passed by. Having been a person that shared groceries with needy families in his youth, he expressed much gratitude for the people at Meals on Wheels over the last few years.
Bill is survived by his church family, the people of the Greeley Seventh-day Adventist Church whom he regarded as his family during the many years he attended that church.
Bill was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Waldo and Doris McGaw, and by his siblings.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22, 3:00 p.m., in the Greeley Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1002 21st Ave, Greeley, Colorado.
