William McGloine Obituary

William "Boston Bill" McGloine, 79, passed away May 25, 2024. Bill was a hard worker who loved nothing more than being around people and sharing a tale over a beer at the end of the day. With a larger than life personality, he was never at a loss for words and loved a good laugh. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Bruyere McGloine for 33 years. Born in Pawtucket, RI he was a son of the late William J. and Edith A. (Garceau) McGloine. He was the brother of the late Joseph McGloine and late Terrance McGloine of Rhode Island. He called Baltimore his home for the past 30 years and was formerly of RI. Bill served honorably in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was later employed at General Motors Corp from which he retired after 30 years. Bill leaves his three daughters, Justine (McGloine) Maciel and her husband Mark, of FL, Melissa (McGloine) Wilson of FL and Angel Maclure of RI.; his step-son David Bruyere and his wife Karen of RI. He is survived by his granddaughters, Blake (Maciel) McCartan and her husband Thomas of NJ, Alexandra Maciel of CA, Chelsea Ciffo of Australia, his grandson Maxwell Maciel of FL and his great-granddaughter Harper. A private memorial gathering for Bill will be held on June 6th, 4-7pm at the American Legion Post 38 in Dundalk, MD where he was a member and served proudly with their Honor Guard for 30 years.
