William J. McGrath, "Big Boss" passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Anne for 61 years. William was the son of the late William and Florence McGrath. He was the brother of Lois Desmond and David McGrath. Devoted father to William J McGrath III and his wife Debbie of Foxborough, MA; Chris McGrath and his late wife Lucy of Hilton Head, SC; Catherine and Timothy Curtin of Norwell, MA; and Cynthia Tunney of Falmouth MA; Loving grandfather to Angela, John, CJ, Courtney, Amber, Billy, and Timothy. Great grandfather to Lainey, Caleb, Adelaide, Ryley, and Emmalyn.
William served in the US Navy. He owned a successful electrical contracting business for over 50 years. Big Boss enjoyed summers boating on Cape Cod and cruised many times up and down the intracoastal waterways. He was a charter member of the Windmill Harbor Men's Golf Club, and he was the Chairman of the ARB of Windmill Harbor. Big Boss was the Cruise Fleet Commodore of the South Carolina Yacht Club. He hosted many members on many of the trips.
He will be remembered as a big guy, with a big smile, an even bigger heart and always a true gentleman.
