William Mendez aka "JOKER" was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 5 th, 1964. He is
survived by His Daughter Crystal AKA Poom which he adored and loved so much. His Siblings,
Aida, Lydia, Ruben, Carlos, Mike, Iris and Lucy. Willie's Parents Florentino Mendez and Ana
Mendez have departed. He was once married to his High school sweet heart Jannette whom he
loved dearly. Willie loved his parents especially his mother Ana. Willie also leaves behind his
furry best friend Tuffy. He loved the Navy, disco music, freestyle, underground house music,
dancing, and the ocean especially 69th street Pier. He never missed a party. He was outgoing,
funny and always had joke for everything just like his Mother Ana. Everyone in the family had a
nickname and this also included his circle of friends.
Willie was not only a father and brother, but a loving uncle and friend. He was the cool uncle
that would take you to all the hot clubs and house parties where everyone knew him as Joker in
the nightlife. He was also a great dance partner and loved to hustle especially with his niece
Becky. Willie was an uncle and great uncle to over 25 nieces and nephews. He loved
Memorial Day and going to see the Navy ships every year. Willie was one of kind. He loved
Spanish food, ice cream, milk and chocolate chip cookies every night, and Johnny's Pizzeria, where he was
a regular and always used to get his corner squares. Willie had a special bond with his circle of
friends (Stoney, Roy, William aka Penguin, and Mike Scully) his sister Lydia, brother Ruben,
brother-in Law Angel, Yvonne and Wanda. He left us way too soon, we will miss his smile,
laughter, his jokes and presence. Willie will always be in our hearts and memory forever.
