Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather William R. Merrill's life of 78 years didn't come to an end with his passing on January 22, 2022 but continues on with those to whom he imparted so much love and wisdom.
Born in Springfield, MA on September 23, 1943 to the late William and Esther (Moulton) Merrill. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Marguerite (Bogusiewski) Merrill of Enfield, CT.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving during the time of the Vietnam war following his High School graduation. He was then employed by Hamilton Standard for 42 years as a Senior Electronic Technician.
Bill passed away after a courageous and stubborn battle with COPD. A man of few words, he lived life never giving in and never complaining.
A member of the Springfield and Somers Sportsmen's Clubs, he had a passion for firearms. He was also a talented woodworker, mechanic and all around tinkerer. He enjoyed spending time with his family in nature, camping, paddling kayaks or riding his recumbent bike. Bill also enjoyed the company of his many dogs and cats throughout his life.
Bill is also survived by his daughter Kristen Taylor and her husband James of Cranbury, NJ, his daughter Kathryn Merrill and fiancé Timothy Arseneault of Stafford Springs, CT, his son Robert Merrill of Enfield, CT; his grandchildren Grace, James and Jake Taylor; and brother Robert Merrill of Whippany, NJ; sister-in-law Joanne LeBeau of Feeding Hills, MA and brother-in-law David Bogusiewski of Westfield, MA along with nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat Luna.
