William Mignogna Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jobe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.-Plum Chapel - Monroeville on Mar. 12, 2026.
William J. "Bill" Mignogna, 90, of Pitcairn, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 3, 2026. Born in Pitcairn on June 24, 1935, he carried his proud Italian heritage throughout his life, paired with a spirited, fiery personality that friends and family will long remember.
Bill retired after 30 years with Giant Eagle, stepping away at age 65 but never slowing down. In retirement, he stayed deeply involved in the community, running for Borough Council, participating in the Lions Club, supporting local youth sports, and delivering flowers. At home, he took special pride in lawn care, and he was famously attentive to those he loved, especially his beloved wife, "Gini," always wanting to know where she was and how she was doing. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and later great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Virginia "Gini" Mignogna, who passed almost one year ago to the day; his parents, Guy and Florence Mignogna; and all 10 of his siblings.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Kelly Poholsky of Penn Township; grandchildren Jamie Gribschaw of Murrysville, Ben Beard (Stephanie) of Level Green, Courtney Poholsky of Penn Township, and Jordan Poholsky of Jeannette; and great-grandchildren Calen Gribschaw, Chris Gribschaw III, and Jovie Beard. A loyal member of the Catholic Church, he lived with devotion, conviction, and a presence that filled every room, often punctuated by sassy comments and a boisterous laugh.
Friends will be received at Jobe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 118 Shaw Avenue, Turtle Creek, PA, on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A public mass will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Regis Parish in Trafford, PA. Burial will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pitcairn Historical Society School House Restoration, payable to Genesis 630 7th Street Pitcairn, PA 15140. Online condolences can be given at www.jobefuneralhome.com.
