WILLIAM F. MOCKLER, JR., 82, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Thursday, August 21,

2025, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. He was born in Brooklyn, NY

and resided in Plainsboro, NJ, prior to settling in Jackson, NJ over 20 years ago.

William (aka Bill or Chief by his co-workers) was a loving husband, father and mentor. His kind yet commanding presence made him the type of rare and special person who was loved by everyone he met. Selfless and generous to the core, he would go to any length to help someone in need. Above all else, Bill believed in protecting others. Whether it was protecting his family or his beloved Country, we were all in a safer place while in his presence.

William was a proud United States Veteran, serving in the Army during the Vietnam War as a Counterintelligence Officer, which laid the groundwork for his life's work with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a Special Agent. In short order, he became one of the youngest men to ever be promoted to a Supervisory position. Most of his DEA career was spent in New York City, where he was eventually promoted to the Chief of the Task Force. He went on to become Special Agent in Charge of the Special Operations Division of the DEA, which was a division he helped to create and later establish. After more than 30 years of service, he ended his career with the DEA in 1998 as Associate Special Agent in Charge of the NY Field Office.

After retiring, he continued his work and went on to consult and create antiterrorism training programs that are still being used globally.

William was predeceased by his parents, William F, and Edna Mockler. He is survived by his

wife of 51 years, Annette; his son, William F Mockler, III and his wife, Victoria of Wall Twp, NJ; his daughter, Kristen and Thomas of Staten Island, NY; his grandchildren, Daymon, Joseph, Natalee, Sophia and Sierra; his sister-in-law, Rosalie Weissman; his nephew, Vincent Quinones; his cousin, Catherine Rallis; his great-nephews, Vincent and Christopher; his great-niece, Stephanie; and by his many loving cousins, family, and friends.

He will be greatly missed…

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 2-9 PM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson, NJ.
