William "Bill" T. Moodie, 54, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on November 14, 2025. Born on March 9, 1971, in Montreal, Canada, he was the beloved son of Walter Moodie and Anne (van Dassen) Moodie. From his earliest years, Bill was known for his warm heart, quick smile, and an innate ability to brighten any room he entered.
Bill earned his bachelor's degree from Syracuse University before embarking on a long and diverse career in accounting. He held roles in several companies over the years, most recently, he served as a controller for Evident.
When Bill met Paula, the love of his life, their connection grew naturally into a deep and lasting partnership. They married in 2007, beginning a life together that was rich with laughter, support, and shared adventures. Bill embraced Paula's two children as his own, and together they welcomed three more children, forming a family that was truly inseparable.
Family was the center of Bill's world. Whether swimming at the beach, skiing with friends, or exploring any new idea one of his five children proposed, he approached every moment with enthusiasm and joy. A true "water bug," he couldn't resist the pull of a pool, lake, or ocean, if water was nearby, Bill was in it, splashing, swimming, and coaxing others to join him in the fun.
He was deeply involved in his children's lives, proudly coaching their soccer and basketball teams through Burlington Youth Sports. When he wasn't urging them good-naturedly to "get more aggressive" on the field or court, or rooting them on at a cheer competition, he was teaching them to ski, browsing the outlets in Conway with his daughters, or simply finding new ways to make memories together.
Bill had a gift for making people smile. Gregarious, good-hearted, and endlessly kind, he was the sort of person others naturally gravitated toward. His warmth and spirit touched everyone who knew him, leaving a lasting imprint on friends, coworkers, and, most of all, his family.
In addition to his parents, Bill is survived by his wife Paula Moodie, his loving children, Paul Dusablon, Stephanie Dusablon, Nora Moodie, Ashley Moodie and Olivia Moodie all of Burlington, brothers, Jason Moodie and his wife Jennifer and Jonathan Moodie and his wife Cheryl, mother and father in law, Pearl Lumbard and Paul McCarthy, sister in law, Rachel Lumbard and brother in law Paul Lumbard.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visiting hours on Thursday November 20 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington. A funeral service will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Home on Friday November 21 at 10:00am with a private entombment to follow in Pine Haven Cemetery.
