William S. Moon, Jr., 84, of Brookhaven died on August 25, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late William and Dorothy Staite Moon, he had been a resident of Brookhaven since 1970.

William was a graduate of Steven S. Palmer High School located in Palmerton, PA, class of 1959. He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1959-1963 as an AFC (Airman First Class) Strategic Air Command. William spent 47 years working for the County of Delaware, first in the Cartographic Department and then spent many years managing the Board of Assessments. He was fondly known in the county office's as the "Map Man".

William's hobbies included fishing, gardening and barbecuing and cooking for his family and friends. He also enjoyed watching British television and cooking shows, but most important was spending time with his loving family.

He was the husband of the late Susan C. Moon (nee Koury) who died on August 19, 2016 after 41 years of marriage, father of Larry Moon (Teresa), Michele Stamm-Bradley (Richard), Nicholas Moon (Shelby) and Jenna Moon-Emery (Justin), brother of Keith Moon (Emily), Karen Leyfert (Brian) and the late Janis Snyder (Bill), grandfather of Alyssa McCormick (Patrick), Jacob Stamm (Jensin), Dylan Stamm (Trenity), Samantha Moon (Conner), Jaden Emery and Joyenne Emery, great-grandfather of Isaac Stamm and John McCormick and is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be held privately.
