William More Obituary

William Theodore "Ted" More II, age 81, of Katy, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Ted was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, and a cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

Born on July 4, 1944, to the late Dr. William Theodore More and Eva Brame More, Ted lived a life marked by service, curiosity, and deep commitment to those he loved. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Teresa; his daughter, Kristin Rhoades, and her husband, Brad; and his son, Theodore Richard More, and his wife, Stephanie. Ted was a proud grandfather to Colton and Kaylee Rhoades, and to Kherington, Britton, Hudson, and Grayson More.

He is preceded in death by his siblings Jeannette, Anita, and Colin, and is survived by his siblings Linda, Leonard, and Keith.

After graduating from Ohio University, Ted honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he earned a Purple Heart along with several other commendations. Upon returning from Vietnam, he earned an MBA from Marshall University. His professional life was as varied as his talents-he worked as an oil executive, a business consultant, and later as an agent with the Department of Homeland Security.

Ted approached life with a spirit of curiosity and joy. He loved playing card games with friends and family, exploring new interests, traveling, and reading. His kindness, humor, and steady presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.

We will forever treasure the memories of our beloved husband and father, whose gentle strength and laughter will continue to echo in our hearts.

A visitation will take place on Monday, February 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Schmidt Funeral Home – Grand Parkway, with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. the same day.
