William "Bill" Tucker Murdock ,93, died at his residence in Decatur, GA January 3, 2026. He was born September 9, 1932, in Rome GA to the lates Elbert Cecil and Rachel Elizabeth (Irene) Tucker.
Bill is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary W. Murdock, and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Don, Bobby, EC, and Jack, and his sisters Martha Crisler, and Eloise Schumann.
He graduated from Rome High School and the University of Georgia, where he was active in the Kappa Sigma fraternity where he served in various positions including Worthy Grand Master of Ceremonies. He was a lifelong Bulldog fan. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur where he served as a Sunday School teacher, a Deacon, choir member, and talented Tenor soloist.
He served in the United States Air Force with a rank of Airman First Class.
Bill has had business associations with Gerber Baby Food, Abbott Lab, Harwick Chemical Co, and Hanse Chemie (German Chemical Company). He and Mary were the owners of Resort Landscape, Hilton Head Island, SC, until retirement.
A Graveside service will be held on January 20, 2026, at 1:30 in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
