William "Bill" Stanley Murray, 87, of McHenry, MD, passed away on December 19, 2025, surrounded by his family after battling a long illness. Bill was born in southern Maryland on October 31, 1938, to the late Stanley Murray and Eleanor (Willet) Erwin.
Bill relocated with his family from Southern Maryland to McHenry, MD, in the 1970s. Bill was an entrepreneur and owned many businesses in the McHenry, MD area. Bill loved all things racing. He enjoyed going to NASCAR races and watching all things racing on TV. Bill also enjoyed sponsoring Late Model cars and going to Late Model Stock Car races. Bill loved his dogs, Tiki and Maggie. He enjoyed rescuing and rehabilitating stray, injured animals and loved watching wildlife. Bill was always known to help anyone in need, providing financial and other resources to get folks on their feet. Bill will be missed for his quick wit, dry humor, and his deep love for "FORD" Trucks and his family.
Bill was married to the love of his life, Carolyn (Close) Murray, for 62 years. He is also survived by his two children, William "Billy" Murray of McHenry, MD, and Shelly Johnson and Husband Dave of Sneads Ferry, NC; his grandson, Keith Johnson and Wife Lauren of Murrells Inlet, SC; his three brothers, Thomas and his Late Wife Rosie, James and Wife Beth, and Stony and Wife Donna; along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 2 to 5 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. -Oakland Chapel. A brief celebration of life will be held at 5 PM.
