William Norred, III Obituary
William Preston Norred III, age 79, of Athens died peacefully on March 26, 2025. The son of the late William and Halley Norred of Hawkinsville, GA. He has resided in Athens, GA since his early twenties. He was preceded in death by his daughter Leigh Norred (David) Pope. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Nelson Norred; his sister Irene Stone; his daughter Amy Norred (Jack) Lefebvre, his son Richard Norred, and his daughter in law Nikki Pope; his grandchildren, Joshua, Haley, Andrew, Charlotte, and Ada; his niece Verna, nephews Rob and Wes. William was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed. William worked for the USDA at Richard B Russell Center in Athens. He traveled the world in pursuit of advancement in toxicology. He loved to play golf, fish, hunt, watch football, and spend time with his family.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Tuckston United Methodist Church Cemetery at 3pm. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home East prior to the graveside.
