Nunamaker, William "Bill"

a former Clearwater City Commissioner died on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Morton Plant Hospital. He was 97 years young.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Nunamaker; his son, Douglas William Nunamaker and his family and his daughter, Susan Nunamaker-Corey and her family. Bill is pre- deceased by his granddaughter, Corie Anne Nunamaker, who passed away at a very young 26 years old.

William came to Clearwater, Florida from Mentor Ohio in 1969. He promptly purchased an existing insulation company and started his businesses in Pinellas County, FL, where he showed his various hats to the community.

While managing his subcontracting business "Bill" Nunamaker was elected to the City of Clearwater Commission in 1977 to 1980, after a short respite he again served from 1987 to 1991. He served Clearwater well with his business judgement and his practical financial acumen and was industrious in his government tasks. Rita Garvey, a fellow commissioner, called him the "bulldog".

In 2004 he met and married his wife, Gladys Blanco Jimenez, from Bogota, Colombia. The Nunamaker side of the family welcomed this lady and her own family to America and to Bill's life.

William "Bill" will be greatly missed by his family and the community.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 11 am at Hubbell Funeral Home Chapel, Belleair Bluffs, for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to your local animal shelter or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
