William T. O'Connor "Willie", 82 of Leonardo New Jersey passed away on July 25,2025 peacefully at home after following a long illness. Born April 3,1943, in Staten Island New York. He was a heavy operating engineer for the Department of Sanitation before retiring. Willie was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and a friend. His love for John Wayne will live in our hearts forever.

William was predeceased by his father William P. O'Connor, his mother Ellen (Quinn) O'Connor, brother PVT. Richard O'Connor (killed in action Vietnam 1968) and his sister Ellen Fiskaa.

He is survived by his wife Odette, son Robert Venancio, daughters Dottie Ann Jones husband Robert Jones, brother John O'Connor, sister Mary Simonson, grandchildren Bobby Bridget and Dottie Ann, Claudette McGrath husband Michael McGrath granddaughters Ava and Alexa McGrath and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday July 30th from 4-7pm at John F. Pflegers Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Rd, Middletown.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 31st at 10:30am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Middletown followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Bill was a kind man whenever I went to visit my sister-in-law, his wife Odette, they had a lovely son Bobby , & a lovely daughter Claudette & granddaughters! My love & sympathy to all! He was very lucky to have a wife like Odette, taking care of him for a very long time!
