Miles Funeral Home - HoldenHOLDEN – William O’Connor, of both Holden, Massachusetts and Naples, Florida, passed peacefully into the hands of Our Lord on Friday, July 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on February 20, 1935, in Mendon, New York, to the late T. Bernard and Kathleen E. (Lovett) O’Connor.
He is survived by his children Michael (Mark Lessinger) O’Connor and daughter, MaryJo O’Connor Frisoli; and his precious twin grandchildren, L. Morgan (Michelle) Frisoli and Michael L. (Jeanette) Frisoli; his beautiful great-grandchildren Emily Helene Frisoli, Nicole Constance Frisoli, and soon to arrive, Eric William Frisoli; including nephews, nieces, and many friends.
William is predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Constance (Angelo) O’Connor; his siblings and their spouses, Thomas (Barbara) O’Connor, Teresa Marie (Guy) Crowley, Donald (Jan) O’Connor, nephew David Crowley, niece Diane (O’Connor) Sponholz, niece Kathleen (O’Connor) Freeman, niece Sue Ann (O’Connor) McMahon, and his son-in-law Lawrence Frisoli.
William was a graduate of Honeoye Falls-Mendon High School. After completing an apprentice program, William started his career as a steamfitter in Rochester, New York, and eventually founded his HVAC company A-Temp Service in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a proud member of Local 13 in Rochester, New York. Flying was his great passion. As an instrument-rated pilot, in his plane, Yankee, he and his wife charted courses to Florida, and beyond.
In retirement, William discovered a love for golf. He cherished his time on the course, whether playing with friends or participating in the men’s league. He was also a proud member of the Grand Cypress Bridge Club.
His favorite pastime by far was simply puttering around with his many projects—always fixing, building, or tinkering with something. He was a true jack-of-all-trades, approaching each project with care, patience, and a sure hand. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered for his steady presence, quiet strength, and peaceful spirit.
Services will be held Monday, August 18, 2025, 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s of Siena, 26 Mendon Ionia Road, Mendon, New York. Mass will be celebrated for William on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jefferson, MA.
