William George Obbagy, age 78, passed away on October 29, 2024. Born on January 25, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late George and Mary Obbagy, William was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Obbagy. He was a devoted father to Susan Gallant (Scott) and a cherished grandfather to Noel and Renee Gallant, Brandon Sanzone (Carrie), and great-grandfather to Abby. He is survived by his dear siblings, John Obbagy (Carol) and Theresa Dickelman (Edwin, deceased), and was a treasured uncle to Kathy, Lisa, James, John, SherryAnne, Nancy, and Jennifer.
William’s love for animals led him to rescue cats and dogs with his wife, Patricia. He was passionate about handwriting analysis, assisting the Cleveland Police Department, and retired from the Cleveland Citizen, later working at Marc's deli in Lakewood. He and his daughter, Susan, shared a special love for Christmas, often leaving the tree up well past the holiday season. Passionate about his Hungarian heritage and family history, he also loved gardening, photography, and hunting for edible mushrooms. Known for his positivity, great sense of humor, and love for classic black-and-white films, William's warmth and joy for life will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
