William Franklin Overman, Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 2, 2022. Frank was born on November 10, 1950 in Wilson. He grew up in Whitakers and returned to Wilson later in life with his wife, Katherine Howell Overman. While Cerebral Palsy limited Frank in many ways, his vocation was sharing the Word of God and the loving forgiveness and grace of Jesus Christ. Frank was a man of God.
Frank was the son of William Franklin Overman, Sr., and Alice Lee Deans Overman. Along with his parents, his wife, Kathy also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Overman Lort (Ron); niece, Morgan Lort Tollinger (Art), and great-nieces, Mackenzie Lee and Natalie Jean; nephew, Andrew Overman Lort and fiancée, Kayla Williams and son, Austin; uncle, James Robert (JR) Gordon. Frank is also survived by his cousins, Leonard Deans, Jeff Deans, SuSu Gordon, and their families.
We would also like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Linda Thorn, fondly known as Aunt Linda and Uncle Donald, for their assistance and support over the years. We also thank Ms. Ann Flowers for her many visits and talks with Frank during his final weeks. Thanks also to the staff at Wilson Assisted Senior Living.
Graveside service will be held in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Franks' memory may be made to: 3HC Hospice, c/o April Brantham, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro North Carolina 27530.
