William E. Parry, 79, a lifelong resident of Scranton and Tunkhannock and devoted family man passed away peacefully Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Gino Merli Veteran's Center, Scranton. He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Maryann C. Parry in 2013.
Born on May 20, 1946, in Scranton, he is the son of the late William and Charlotte (McHale) Parry.
Bill was a proud graduate of West Scranton High School class of 1966. After graduation, he answered his country's call by enlisting in the United States Navy, an experience that instilled in him a deep sense of duty, discipline, and patriotism that guided him throughout his life.
Following his military service, Bill built a long and successful career as a foreman in the Material Logistics Department at Procter and Gamble. He was also a proud and active member of the Knights of Columbus, where he forged lasting friendships and dedicated his time to supporting others.
Bill found great joy in the simple pleasures of family life including fishing with his grandsons, playing croquet and cards along with sharing laughter at family gatherings.
He was known for his generosity and steady presence. He was always ready to lend a hand to family, friends, or anyone who needed help.
He is survived by his son, Bill Parry and wife Marion of Tunkhannock; daughter, Carrie Toscano and husband Joe of Lake Mary, FL; brother Eddie Parry and wife Cindy; sister-in-law, Barbara Parry; grandchildren, Billy, Max, Zoe, JT, Marisa, Jake, who were the light of his life.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by brother, Benjamin "Bump" Parry; sister, Charlotte Paone.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in Bill's honor.
