William Paul Perault

With heavy hearts, we are announcing that William “Bill” Paul Perault passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 16, 2025. Bill was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania to the late William H. Perault and Evelyn Shultz Perault on April 25, 1938.

Bill retired from Southeastern Freight Lines, and was very proud of his perfect driving record. He was a devoted husband and father who loved being with his family. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. Bill treasured each moment he had playing with them. He was very close to his wife’s parents, Edd and Willie Mae “Bill” Glosson, and enjoyed spending time with them. He shared his witty sense of humor with his mother-in-law Bill, and they had a good time together. He was known for keeping the house full of laughter.

Bill is survived by his beautiful wife and best friend of almost 62 years, Linda. It was love at first sight when he met her at The Coffee Cup in Charlotte. After courting for only four months, they got married and soon started a family. Bill absolutely adored and cherished her. He told Linda recently that if he had it to do all over, he would marry her again.

Survivors also include his son Paul Perault, and daughters Cheryl Elgin (Rick) and Donna Dressel (Greg); grandchildren Jon Paul, Josie, Jordan (Bucky), Bailey, Olivia, Blake (Jordan), Ashley, Alec, Amanda (Will), and Zach (Courtney); several great-grandchildren; brother Dell “Frosty” Perault (Vickie); brother-in-law Bud Hott; brother-in-law Richard “Buzz” Brown; brother-in-law Edd Glosson (Ann); brother-in-law Ted Glosson (Becky); and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Evelyn Perault, great-grandson Maddon Shirley, brother Ross Perault, sister Sandy Hott and sister Karen Dale Brown.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. until 1:45p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Dulin’s Grove Advent Christian Church, 11200 Arlington Church Road, Charlotte, North Carolina. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Matt Rice. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
