My Husband, William Anthony Perez, passed away, early morning of July 21st, 2022. He was 72 years old. He was born January 21, 1949 in Torrance, California. He was the eldest of three children born to William Perez, Sr and Eleanor Barreras de Perez. He loved playing sports, especially football. As a young teen, he played Pop Warner Football. His athletic abilities won him a scholarship to Bishop Montgomery High School. From there he would go on to attend the University of Southern California on an Academic Scholarship. After graduating from USC, he went to the University of San Francisco. There he obtained his Law Degree. He came to Las Cruces in 2003 to find a new home and a wife. Bill, my husband, now formed a family consisting of my youngest, Francisco, his son Felipe and eventually our two eldest grandchildren, Carlos and Victoria. Bill ended his teaching career when our grandchildren arrived to live with us in order to be Mr. Mom. Together we had 17 years of marriage. Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor, his father Bill Sr., his sister Susan, and his brother George. My husband leaves behind, me his wife, Evangelina, our children Ramona, Marcos, Felipe, Ana,and Francisco. Our grandchildren, Carlos, Victoria, Ibrahim, Claudia, Jacob, Christina and Paxton. His Brother Richard Perez and his wife, Cheri, his sister Mary, her husband Steve, and three children
Services will be held at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 100 S, Espina,on Friday August 26, 2022 to begin at 10:00am with a prayer vigil and a memorial mass to follow. Inurnment will follow the services at the St. Genevieve Church Columbarium. The family will have fellowship following the servives at Napolitos Restaurant, 310 S. Mesquite St., Las Cruces.
