William Eugene Perry, 63, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025. He was born on November 17, 1961, to the late Henry Buckner and Maxine Perry. William, aka Tugie, grew up in Harrisburg, where he built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. He was a dedicated Harrisburg School District employee for over 30 years of service.
A lifelong fan of the Miami Dolphins, Tug's passion for the game was evident to all who knew him. Sundays were sacred, as he cheered on his favorite team with unwavering loyalty and enthusiasm. Mr. Perry loved all sports, especially hacky sack in his later years. Beyond sports, he was known for his kind spirit and genuine love for those around him.
William also enjoyed bowling, watching the Penn State games, and spending time with his family and friends.
William is survived by children, William Welker, Jordan Perry and Julian Payne, his siblings; Jocelyn, Bryan, Bernard, Terrance (Charlene) and Kevin Perry, his special aunt, Jacqueline Perry, 6 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of family and special friends.
Tug's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His presence, like the Dolphins’ colors, brought brightness and vibrancy to the lives of so many.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc., 3532 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Following the service, a Repast will be held at the S Club, 2940 N. 7th Street, Harrisburg, PA at 1:00 p.m.
