William Anthony (Tony) Petsche finished his journey here on Earth on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 6:00 pm. He suddenly returned to Heaven after experiencing chest pains, which started around 8:00 am that morning and ended at 6:00 pm. Greeting him was his sister Djuana Zeigner Curtis, his brother Dennis Lee Petsche, grandson Kayson Tanner Lister, his grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tony was born August 1, 1958, in Artesia, California to Gayle Joy Carpenter Petsche and Curtis Lee Petsche. In his teen years, he came to Cedar City, Utah and graduated from Cedar High School, the Redmen. Then joined Job Corp in 1975 and he was medically discharged from the Army in 1977, after 6 months of service.
While working as a cook at the North Rim Grand Canyon in June of 1981, he met the love of his life, Sheri Judd. He knew it was love at first sight, telling a coworker while sitting on the back dock, that he was going to marry the young lady that just walked by. They were married July 19, 1981 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the "We've Just Begun" wedding chapel. They have two kids, William Anthony II and daughter Tabitha Olive. They have lived in Parowan, Paragonah, Cedar City and Enoch.
Tony had many jobs over the years. He was a police officer for the Town of Paragonah, cared for dozens of lawns of elderly widows in Paragonah, he served as an EMT from 1992-2004 and a volunteer firefighter for Paragonah. He loved being a chef and making delicious foods. He worked in multiple restaurants: Adriana's, Cedar Breaks Lodge, Gondola, Cedar Creek, and Sulliven's, until it got too hard to stand and work. In 2006, he started his security career by working at All American Security, Kelly Security, then with a private company by Zion and most currently with On-Site private security.
On Earth, he leaves behind his wife Sheri Judd Petsche, son William (Caity) Oregon, daughter Tabitha (James) Enoch, his mother Gayle Zeigner and step father Kenneth Zeigner (the man who raised him) of Enoch, brother Daniel (Moe) Petsche, Unita, sister Shauna (David) Strand, Florida, and grandchildren, Kameron, Dylan, Brooklyn, Clark, Drake, James, Kennadee, Maddisen, Zac, Jeremy, Lucas and countless cousins, nieces, nephews and many more who love and miss him greatly.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 30, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N. 300 W., Cedar City). A viewing will be held prior to the service at 11:00 am. Final arrangements are under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Livestreaming of the services may be viewed, and online condolences may be left at www.mortuary.org.
