William J. "Bill" Pierro

William J. Pierro, age 84, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Diane M. (Rowland) Pierro with whom he enjoyed 63 years of marriage.
He was born in Somerville on June 19, 1940, and was the son of the late Vito and Catherine (Leahy) Pierro.
William (Bill) was raised in Lexington, MA and graduated high school there. He also attended Bentley College. He ran heavy equipment for many years at Arlex Oil Corporation in Lexington and made many life long friends there. Bill enjoyed working in the yard and taking care of shrubs and the lawn and trading construction favors with neighbors. He also loved the neighborhood get togethers and sitting around the firepit. Anyone that knew him will remember his El Producto blunt cigars and Ballantine Ale or blackberry brandy. Visitors were always welcome and an adult beverage ready for them. After he retired, he loved sitting on the front porch watching people walk by and enjoyed seeing the neighborhood little ones playing.
In addition to his loving wife, Bill leaves his son Steven Pierro and his wife Marianne of Valatie, NY, daughter Karen Annese of Hudson, NH, and son Brian Pierro and his wife Lisa of Yorba Linda, CA. He also leaves grandchildren Brian Annese and his wife Shana of Hudson, NH, Melody Pierro and her fianc Brandon Rouault of Westminster, CO, Martin Pierro, Maggie Pierro of Yorba Linda, CA, Michael and Thomas Pierro of Valatie, NY and great grandchildren Braiden Strickland of Hudson, NH and Aurora Annese of Hudson, NH.
He is predeceased by his granddaughter Taylor Annese. Bill also leaves many cousins, nephews, nieces and many, many friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. His graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 1:30 pm following the visitation in Pine Ridge Cemetery, 130 Billerica Road, CHELMSFORD. Friends and family will have a get together after the services.
Memorial donations may be made in Williams memory to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or the charity of their choice.
