William (Bill) Rudolph Pilger Jr., 80, of Tobyhanna, passed away peacefully January 6, 2026. Born in New Jersey, he was the son of the late William and Estelle (Clearwater) Pilger. Bill was preceded in passing by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Pilger, in 2024.
He worked for over 30 years as a foreman at EJ Brooks until his retirement. In his younger years he also operated snowplows for NJDOT.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Amanda Freed, William Pilger, Tina Pilger, Crystal Opdycke, and James Hammond and his wife, Margaret; grandchildren: Mariah, Eryn, and Matthew Freed; a brother, Michael Pilger and his wife, Maxine; a sister, Helen Howell, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 10AM until the service at 12PM all at Bolock Funeral Home 6148 Paradise Valley Road Cresco PA 18326.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's name to the American Cancer Society. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of William Pilger Jr., please visit our floral store.
