William Richard Piper

We announce the passing of W. Richard Piper, fondly known to friends and family as Rick at the age of 77. Born in Trenton, NJ, to the late Margaret Mary Schroth and William Richard Piper, Jr, Rick spent his adult life in Philadelphia. He was a dedicated entrepreneur and passionate advocate for health and fitness who owned and operated the 12th Street Gym. Rick also cherished moments spent with friends enjoying dinners and shows in Philadelphia. Rick is survived by his brother, David Piper. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lorette Piper. A private burial service was held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Trenton NJ. Donations in Rick's memory can be made to either Morris Animal Refuge in Philadelphia or PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society).
