William Planes Obituary
Born in Tampa, Florida on August 31, 1940, William Thomas Planes stepped into eternity on January 5, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandi Crowe Planes, daughter and son in laws, Elaine and David Adams, Elizabeth Planes, Elise and Ryan Moore, 14 grandchildren: Thomas Edward "Tea" Adams, William "Will" Adams, Jacob "Jake" Adams, Isaac "Ike" Adams, Cannon Terry, Dylan Russell, Presley Russell, Adelina "Addy" Johnson, Micah Johnson, Thomas "Tommy" Moore, Jackson "Jack" Moore, Charleston "Charles" Moore, Walter Moore, and Magnolia "Maggie" Moore, niece Evelyn Burton Kelly, and numerous other nieces and nephews, with a special place in his heart for Joey.
Upon graduating from Chamblee High School in 1959, he served in the United States Navy.
Before illness overtook his mind and body, he was faithful in worship and attendance at Lilburn First Baptist Church and later Union Grove Baptist Church in Auburn, GA.
Funeral service honoring Tommy will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory with Dr. Carl Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park with military honors. The family will gather with friends on Friday, January 13, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and his overflowing love, care, and compassion.
