William Pressnell Obituary
William Lenard Pressnell, 88, of Columbus, Ohio went peacefully home to the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, January 20th, 2025 with his youngest son, Kevin, and friend, Lacey, by his side. Lenard was born in Tazewell, Tennessee on March 31st, 1936, to the late William and Eva (Poore) Pressnell. He was the 6th of 11 children. Lenard had worked as a manager for several warehouses and as a manager for CeCutti Bakery. In April of 1978, he started working for Ohio Distribution Warehouse (ODW), where he worked for 21 years before retiring in April of 1999. He is survived by his loving family; children, Kathy Harvey, Larry (Joy) Pressnell, Kim (Joe) Blaum, and Kevin Pressnell, all of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Jenny, John Gardiner, Shawn (Julie), Tony (Lisa) and Mike (Misty) Harvey; Brian, Amanda, and Chris Pressnell; Alesha (Carl) Moffett, Brittney (Dusty) Hobson, and Obadiah Blaum; William (Brooklyn) Pressnell, Dalton, Zach, and Brock Pressnell; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Jaden, Anthony, Emma, Nathaniel, Trevor, Aerabella, Evan, Hayleigh, Hunter, Preston, Laney, Katie, Bailey, Brandon, Jessie, Eli, Silvia, and Alaina; his great-great-grandchildren, Reese and Dax; brother, Jerry (Pam) Pressnell of Greenwood, Indiana; sisters, Mary Mink of Powell, Tennessee, and Leola Justice of Springfield, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Pressnell, Aunita Morningstar, Opal Johnson, Bonnie (Orville) Lyons, Tammy, Effie, and Carrie Pressnell; brother-in-law, Richard Johnson; many special nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Nancy (Johnson) Pressnell; mother and father, William and Eva (Poore) Pressnell; mother and father-in-law, John and Hazel (Thacker) Johnson; son-in-law, Denny Gardiner; grandson, Josh Whitley; brothers, Arthur, Alex, Richard, Edward, and Roy Pressnell; sisters, Erma June Pressnell and Naomi Widner; brothers-in-law, George Mink, Everett Justice, Stanley Widner, Dee, Davie, Dannie and Tommy Johnson, Wayne Morningstar, and Chester Ferguson; sisters-in-law, Donna, Lavenda and Diane Pressnell, Darlene, Jean, Joanne, and Debbie Johnson. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cincinnati Reds fan. Lenard loved spending time with his family. His grandkids were his world. He was a lifelong fisherman and an avid bowler. He was a father and grandfather not only to his own family but to anyone who walked through the door. Visitation will be Saturday, January, 25th from 10 A.M.until time of service at 12 P.M. at O. R. WOODYARD COMPANY FUNERAL HOME 1346 S. High St. Columbus, Ohio. Rev. Ben Geiser officiating. Interment to follow in Asbury Cemetery. The family has requested casual attire.
