William Arthur Pritchard, Sr., 84, of Frederick, MD died peacefully Monday, September 22, 2025.

He was the loving husband to the late Laura Bell Pritchard (Walters) for 38 years.

Born August 17, 1941 in Crossnore, NC, he was the son of the late Glenn and Beatrice (Heaton) Pritchard. William was a 1959 graduate of Gaithersburg High School.

William was known by everyone as Bill or 'Wild Bill'. But to his family and grandchildren, he was 'Pops' and 'Pop-Pop'. Bill enjoyed his gin and tonic, playing golf and the Washington Redskins. For over 40 years, Bill coached and umpired at the Rockville Baseball Association (RBBA) in Rockville, MD. Music was also a big part of his life. He loved to have fun along with dancing, playing his guitar, singing hymns and country songs. Bill also sang and directed the church choir at Trinity Baptist Church in Rockville for many years.

Bill had a long career installing carpet and flooring, even owning his own business in Maryland and Florida. He later went on to work at other installation companies in the area including The Home Depot in Germantown, MD.

He is survived by his four sons, William A. Jr. (Debra) and Robert J (Lisa) of Frederick, MD; Wade A. (Roberta) of Germantown, MD and Kevin D. Pritchard (Dawn) of Mt. Airy, MD; his sister, Vickie Robinson (James) of Rockville, MD; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert and three sisters Joan, Peggy and Glenda.
