BENNETTSVILLE, SC – On Wednesday, November 3, 2021, Mr. William Brian “Big Brian” Pruitt, 53, of Bennettsville, SC and formerly of Anson County, passed away peacefully at the home of his son in Denton, NC.
Funeral services will be 4:00pm Saturday, November 6, 2021, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Davis officiating.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Brian was born November 4, 1967, in Hartford, CT and was a son of Dorothy Milligan Pruitt Paul and the late William Simpson Pruitt. He had worked for Hornwood in Lilesville as a supervisor.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Marie Pruitt of Denton; his granddaughter, Samiya Jones of Lilesville; his step-son, Kenny Rodgers of Rockingham; his mother, Dot Paul of Bennettsville, SC; his brother, Joe Pruitt of Bennettsville, SC; his nephews, D.J. Pruitt, Jonathan Pruitt and wife, Kim and Josh Pruitt; his great-nephew and great-niece, Nathan and Natalyn and his cousins, who were more like sisters, Teresa McDonald of Wallace, SC and Tonya Walker of Bennettsville, SC.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Addie Earickson, who was more like a mother to him.
Brian will be remembered as a loving and devoted father, amazing poppy, son, brother and friend. Among his favorite past times was fishing and spending time with his family.
The family is very grateful to Hospice of the Piedmont for their care for Brian and their family. A very special thank you to Pastor Scott Davis and Siloam Church family for the loving way in which they have ministered to their family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Siloam Church, P.O. Box 414, Denton, NC 27239.
