William P. Prunty

William Paul Prunty, of Danbury, Ct, went home to meet the good Lord and to be reunited with his true love of his life Beatrice "Beadie" on February 10, 2025, at the age of 91. He was born on November 22, 1933, in Jamaica Queens, New York, to the late Peter P. Prunty and Elizabeth Prunty.
William proudly served in the U.S. Army. He went on to have a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant, working for IBM, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
William's faith and religious beliefs were so strong that he helped establish the Holy Name Society. Throughout his life, he was a dedicated member of St. Gregory the Great Church and St. Joseph Church of Danbury.
William's love for his family was matched only by his passion for cooking, especially preparing Sunday breakfasts for his loved ones. William loved history, Martinis and a Great Cigar! His warmth, kindness, and sense of humour will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, MaryBeth, Peter, Timothy, James (Stephanie), Ellen Goyda her husband Robert and Robert. He was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. William was also the last survivor of 14 brothers and sisters.
He was also predeceased by his son, Thomas B. Prunty, grandson, Fintan, and his siblings.
ABOVE ALL, he always put his Family and God first. His commitment to God and Family was unmatched. How lucky we were to have had him in our live so long. We were truly blessed.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury.
