William "Bill" Quigley

William "Bill" Quigley, a cherished resident of Medford, peacefully passed away with family by his side on March 11, 2024, the day of his 83rd birthday, leaving behind a legacy of memories.
Bill was born in Bristol, CT on March 11th, 1941, to his late parents, William Matthews Quigley and Eileen O'Sullivan. After the passing of Eileen he was raised and later adopted by Eleanor Quigley. He spent most of his youth in Watertown CT, and attended the University of Connecticut where he met the love of his life, Gretchen. He embarked on a career with Union Carbide which resulted in a move to Willingboro NJ, where they lived for 14 years before moving onto Medford, NJ.
Bill grew up working in his father's ski shop which started in 1937. His heart was always in sports retail and in 1971 he became a partner in a South Jersey Ski shop which later became the renowned Danzeisen and Quigley. Bill's impact in South Jersey came through his contribution to the Ivy Stone Ski Shows, Tri County Swim Clubs, Landskaters In-line Skate Club and many other community organizations. He was recognized nationally as President of the Ski Merchandizing Corporation (SMC) for 20 years and prided himself on building lasting relationships with everyone he met.
Outside of his professional life, Bill was known for his warmth, generosity, infectious smile and love for his family and friends. He took immense pride in his role as a husband to Gretchen Quigley. A father to William Matthews Quigley II (Paige Thorn) and W. Joan Perry (Clark) and a grandfather to Ryan (Kaila), Carson, Bryce, Tyler (Devon), and Keaton. He also had the recent joy of being a great-grandfather to Cooper, experiencing the delight of yet another generation.
Bill was a beloved brother to Peter (Janice), Myra Quigley (Edward Unger), Fred (Cathy), and Chris (Suzy). His warmth and love will be deeply missed by family and friends from near and far.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects to William, with a visitation being held Monday evening March 25th from 6pm to 8pm and Tuesday March 26th from 10am to 11:30am, with services to begin at 11:30am located at Givnish of Marlton, 398 East Main Street, Marlton, NJ 08053.
