William A. Rack

William August Rack, age 91, of Rahway, NJ, passed away on the morning of Monday, October 6, 2025.

William was a very kindhearted and compassionate man who was devoted to his family and wife. He had a sense of humor and would always light up the room. He was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Clark, NJ. He was a lifetime resident of Rahway, NJ, and truly loved his town people.

William was a graduate from Rutgers in 1967 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. William, or Bill as he was usually known, worked as an accountant for PSE&G in Newark for 35 years and retired in 1993. He was Treasurer of Merchants and Drovers, Member of the Knights of Colombus, Member of the Rahway PBA, Planning Board, Parking Authority amongst other organizations in his community.

During his lifetime he enjoyed spending summers at the beach in LBI with his family and friends, vacationing in Florida, and enjoyed cruises from Alaska to the Caribbean. His favorite activities were crossword puzzles, word searches, and playing solitaire on the computer, wood working in his basement shop, treat time with his cats Rusty and Molly, spending every day with his wife, having visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren, dining at local restaurants, and enjoying his weekly Vodka on ice cocktail every Friday.

He was predeceased by his dear wife Noreene Rack, who just passed eight months ago, his dear son William Rack, (Billy) and his brother Thomas Rack.

William is survived by his loving children, Linda Ward, Steven Rack and wife Jessie, his sister Marion Greener, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ashley Ward and her husband Eric Proctor (Kaelyn, Charlotte and Samantha), Andrea Policastro and husband George (Walter), Joe Ward (Addison) and Jessica Scuorzo and husband Nick (Easton and Ridge).

A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a Funeral Service taking place at 5:00 pm, on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home located at 275 West Milton Avenue in Rahway, NJ. Cremation will be private.
