William Joseph Reddan passed away peacefully at his home in Fairfax Virginia on February 8, 2026. Bill was 84 years old. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his four daughters.

Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was born and raised in Dubuque Iowa and at the age of 18 joined the Air Force. While he was a young GI he met his beautiful wife Marina in the summer of 1963 at Gullane Beach in East Lothian, Scotland. Six months later they were married in Edinburgh before moving to Japan. They traveled the world with their girls during his years with the military.

He spent the first nine years of his military career as an enlisted man before attending the University of Colorado Boulder to finish his degree and get his commission. In the military he was a communications officer and was trained to speak fluent Russian. After retiring from the Air Force in 1981 he and Marina moved to Fairfax Virginia. He began his second career as a government contractor spending most of his time at the Pentagon. His contributions aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt during Operation Desert Storm were among the most notable.

Bill was known for his charm, intellect, and sense of humor. In his free time, he could be found at the bowling alley, watching the Dallas Cowboys or his beloved Chicago Cubs.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Tracy Reddan, Sherrie (Dave) Link, Michelle (Tim) Thomas, Karen (Pat) DeVera, his brother, Roger (Dory) Reddan, his thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marina, his parents, Floyd and Layola Reddan, and great-grandson, Lorenzo Link. Bill will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
