Claude Schuch died peacefully on February 12, 2026 comforted by the presence of her husband

and family.

Claude was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a gifted artist whose life was

shaped by family, culture, and a deep appreciation for beauty and heritage.

Born in Paris, France, she studied at the École des Arts Appliqués before launching a successful

career as a freelance illustrator in the city's vibrant fashion world. Her work was commissioned

by leading couture houses in Paris and appeared in advertisements and publications of the era.

In 1979, she moved to the United States with her beloved husband, Guy Schuch, and later

devoted herself fully to oil painting.

In her paintings, Claude's distinctive style emerged-rich in botanical motifs, medieval

inspiration, and delicate whimsy. Her luminous portraits, expressive landscapes, and finely

detailed compositions reflected her love of symbolism, history, religion and refined color. Her

work was exhibited in museums, entered into prestigious competitions, and recognized with

several awards, reflecting both her artistic skill and her dedication to her craft. True to her

playful spirit, she often included a cat in her scenes, quietly observing the world as if from the

canvas-a nod to her own feline companions.

Beyond her artistic career, Claude was a respected dealer in fine antiques for over 35 years,

with a deep knowledge of antique jewelry and goldsmithing. She also collected religious art and

Medieval and Renaissance objects, curating pieces that reflected her admiration for history,

craftsmanship, and beauty.

She will be remembered for her flair for fashion and color, designing and wearing her own

creations. Her style was uniquely her own-vibrant, graceful, and a true reflection of her spirit.

Claude was known for her warmth and generosity, and she cherished her family above all. She

shared a long and loving marriage with Guy, raised her son, Alexandre, welcomed her daughter-

in-law, Ana, and enjoyed time with her grandsons, Logan and Victor. She is survived by her

sister Catherine.

Funeral and internment will take place in Les Sables-d'Olonne in France.
