William "Bill" Emanuel Redoutey, Sr.
October 14, 1944 – September 29, 2025

William "Bill" Emanuel Redoutey Sr., 80, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025. He was born in McDermott on October 14, 1944, to the late Emanuel and Edna Redoutey. Bill lived a life defined by hard work, love of family, and a spirit of adventure. He spent his career as an operating superintendent in the construction field, where his leadership and dedication left a lasting impact until his retirement.

Bill was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Trained as both a sniper and missile launcher operator, he carried out his duties with precision, courage, and resilience. His service was a testament to his commitment to his country and to his fellow soldiers.
He cherished life's simple joys, including attending NASCAR races, traveling the open road, riding motorcycles, and relaxing with a cold beer and a good steak. Above all, he will be remembered for his humor, strength, and the loyalty he showed to those he loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Redoutey; his son, William "Billy" Redoutey, Jr.; his stepson, Brian Shirley, and his sisters, Kathryn Barney, Mary Fern (Harlan) Smith, and Ruth Ann (Andy) Lute.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph (Kim) Redoutey of West Portsmouth and Richard Redoutey of Portsmouth; his brother, Charles Robert "Bob" (Mary) Redoutey of McDermott and his sisters, Lena (Danny) Payne of McDermott and Judy (Mike) Howard of Fairborn, OH. He also leaves behind grandchildren; Bethany (Michael) Harless of Huntington, WV, Katlyn Redoutey of West Portsmouth, Joseph "Tanner" (Emily) Redoutey Jr. of West Portsmouth, Ricki Redoutey of Portsmouth, Lindsay (Dan) Hunt of Florida, and Justin Barker of North Dakota, along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored him. He is also survived by his first wife and the mother of his children, Phyllis (Gerald) Cooper of Portsmouth, OH.

Bill's presence, laughter, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date to honor his memory.
