William G. Risher, known affectionately as William by his friends and family, passed away on May 7, 2024, at the age of 83 in Greenville, SC. Born on October 17, 1940, in Smoaks, SC, William was a man of great character, defined by his friendly demeanor, interesting stories, and passionate nature.

William was a beloved husband to his loving wife, Linda Hart, and a cherished father to his children, Susan (Kenneth) Myers, W. David (Sherry) Risher, and Rhonda (Martin) Pineda. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. William was predeceased by his parents, Mary Risher and Julius Rhett Risher, his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Evelyn (Jack) Thomas, his brothers, Holland Clyde Risher and Julius (Angie) Risher. He is survived by his sister, Miriam Risher, who remembers him fondly.

William's early life in Smoaks was filled with the love and support of his family. He carried the values instilled in him throughout his life. After completing some college, William dedicated years of service to his country in the Air Force, where he formed lasting bonds and developed a strong sense of discipline and camaraderie.

A man of the outdoors, William had an enduring love for fishing, hunting, and bowling. These interests were more than hobbies; they were avenues through which he connected with friends, family, and nature. He was often found sharing stories of his latest adventure or teaching his children the patience and skill required to reel in a big catch.

William's legacy is not only in the love he shared with his family or the service he gave to his country but also in the countless lives he touched with his friendly conversations and interesting anecdotes. He approached life with a passion that was infectious, inspiring those around him to embrace their pursuits with similar vigor.

As we say goodbye to William G. Risher, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest. He was a man who made every moment count, who loved deeply, and who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. William's story does not end here; it carries on in the memories we hold and in the lessons he taught us.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. William G. Risher will be deeply missed, but the warmth of his spirit will continue to light the way for all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
