William Robertson, beloved husband, father, friend, and passionate soul passed away January 28, 2025, at the age of 62. His warmth, huge smile, humor, and unwavering love for the things that brought him joy will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
He graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 1988 with a degree in physics and went on to earn his master’s degree in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His career spanned decades of innovation and excellence, beginning at Kimberly-Clark, followed by KLA Corporation, and culminating in his retirement from Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he worked from 2002 to 2023.
A lifelong lover of tennis, he could often be found on the court, racket in hand, chasing the perfect shot with his famous pirouette move. Music was his constant companion, and his collection of vinyl records reflected his deep appreciation for the artistry of sound. Whether it was progressive rock, jazz, or blues, he found solace in sharing music from his turn tables or reel to reel decks.
He had a special place in his heart for his Oldsmobile 442, a car that wasn’t just a machine but a symbol of his love for classic craftsmanship and the open road. That same spirit of adventure took him traveling far and wide, though no place called him back like the Jersey Shore, where the salty breeze and rolling waves made him feel at home, spending the day body surfing and ending it with a fresh lobster.
Above all, he was a devoted father to his girls, Ava and Sophia, never missing a single event—whether it was on the softball field, basketball court, or dance stage. He shared his love of music with them, creating memories through songs and moments that will last a lifetime. His presence was steady, his support unwavering, and his love immeasurable.
William leaves behind Amanda, his loving wife and partner, who will forever cherish the life they built together. He was her unwavering rock and support, especially in all thing’s dogs. He will be deeply missed by his girls, countless friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A service will be held on February 22 at 3 PM at Rivera Family Funerals in Espanola, NM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Espanola Humane.
