RANDOLPH- William Bryant Ross, 76, passed away at his home in Randolph on August 31, 2025. He was born in Waldoboro on August 21, 1949, to the late George and Nathalie (Achorn) Ross.
William graduated from Waldoboro High School and completed courses at the University of Maine. He enlisted into the United States Navy before beginning his career at Maine State Retirement System and the Kennebec Journal.
He married the love of his life Dona Gidney on June 1, 1974. Two years later they welcomed their son Bryan.
In his free time, he deeply enjoyed time spent with family, camping at Beaver Brook Campground where they were seasonals for over 15 years, hunting, fishing and golfing with family and friends. He also enjoyed campfires and barbeques at his house and feeding all the neighborhood dogs.
William is survived by his son, Bryan and wife Angela Ross, sisters, Georgia Hodgkins and Barbara Wright, granddaughters, Lexxus Brann (her husband Benjamin) and Morgan Ross, Great grandson Colt Brann and his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 42 years, as well as his brother Larry Ross.
William's memorial service will be held on Friday September 19th at 10:30AM, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, with a celebration of life to follow immediately after. Interment will take place at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery and will remain private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kennebec Valley Humane Society.
Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Care, One Church Street, Augusta, Maine.
